Okay, so I hope no one minds if I ask this here, I'll take it down if it's a problem.

I'm giving a speech tomorrow about why you should obviously buy a Zune rather than an iPod ;) And I figured I'd try to get some firsthand testimonials or whatever.

So basically: Tell me what made you choose the Zune over the iPod and/or what your favorite thing about it is

Thanks for any and all help :)

I got the most interesting tweet today from the Zune folks on Twitter.

Microsoft beats Apple in consumer survey

Quote:
The study, conducted by retail consulting firm Strategos and equities research firm wRatings, lists Apple as the number 10 most innovative consumer electronics company.

Surprisingly, Microsoft came in at number three behind LG and Nintendo. That's right, Microsoft just beat Apple in a consumer satisfaction survey. Who woulda thunk it?

"As Microsoft has done across many products and now with the Zune HD, listening to customers and improving from early mistakes can lead to winning products," says Peter Skarzynski, Managing Director at Strategos.

Apple pretty much just sits these days on the fact its APPLE. Wholly 'mainstream' do they have to work hard to get people to buy?

I've noticed though, that more reviewers and just people all around are quite interested in the ZuneHD and what it has to offer, and find it to be better than what Apple has on its plate right now.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Well, I am now the proud owner of 2 & 1/2 original Zune 30's. :) All thanks to Microsoft's incompetence and inability to fix cracked screens. And it's not a bad thing in this case.

I was bored the other day and was thinking how I wanted something different. So I took apart my first Zune, which had a cracked screen, and my boyfriend's last Zune, which was bricked, combined the working parts to make...

I'm happy to be able to access all my old music and videos, but now if I want to use it again like regular, I'll have to update it and hope it doesn't brick in the process. Suppose if it does though it's no big loss.

Ok so I thought coming to a live journal website might be the most reliable source of help I can get to fix my 80 gb zune. I've only had it for a few months but the first dysfunction I noticed was that after I uploaded music certain songs would make my zune freeze. Then after I turned it off then back on an error was displayed that said something like " information not found on zune". I just ignored it until it happened a second time. Then the battery died while it was frozen. When I charged it and turned it back on another error was displayed that said in order for the zune to fix in error it must clear all of it's contents. So it's been 3 days since it's been stuck on "clearing contents. Please wait." and I don't know what to do.

and I just realized that I could look for Zune on LJ. I had an iPod for years and its was fine. Just a mp3 player for me, course it was 3 gen, I got my Zune and fell in love with it as soon as I unboxed it. I have a black 120gb and I love that I have so much space on it. Yeah the new Zune HD will be dropping soon and I am excited to see them but I think I will stay with my 120gb due to the size of music and movie library. Im really excited to see how the software feels after the update on the 15th.

Remember me? The girl who accidentally put her Zune to sleep and couldn't wake it again?

Just to let ppl know what eventually happened, presuming anyone cares, I ended up sending my Zune back to Microsoft and they sent me a replacement really quickly. Apparently I did it just in time, too, b/c my warranty had expired. They never did say what was wrong, though, and I wish they had.

Major thanks to wisenboi for all his help.

A few days ago I was playing my zune, as I went to change songs. It froze. The touch pad wouldn't work, neither would the buttons. Then the screen grew dim. Then it turned off. It hasn't turned on since, nor charged. Any help?

Hey so sadly my PC crashed and I lost all of my music.. luckly I still have the songs on my zune.. Sooo

I followed this tutorial here
http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/zune/91919-tutorial-transfer-music-zune-computer.html

I installed the program, I patched it.. then plugged my zune and opened up the zune software.
My zune does appear on my computer.. but the problem is that when I double click on my zune (in My Computer).. there is no Storage folder inside.

I don't know whats wrong.. or what to do..
Anything would be nice. Thanks.

AND

If I have my zune on another PC that isn't linked to it.. and when I put my cursor over my zune on the bottom left corner (when you have the Zune Software open).. it says drag items to sync to splashley.. does that mean I can add more songs without erasing any of the ones that I have right now? Thanks!
