I've had my 8gb zune for a few years, but I lost the USB cable to charge it so it went dormant for a while. I got around to ordering usb/ac/car adapters for it and got the stuff today. When I plug it in, the charging icon doesn't come up on the screen at all. I left it charging on the ac adapter for at least 10 minutes and still nothing. Is it dead? :( I've tried the reset commands but nothing. Any suggestions?

Santa, aka my husband, wants my Christmas list like now. I have a 120g video Zune. I love it and want to get a dock with speakers for Christmas. I would like to keep it less than $100. Does anyone have one? Anything you really like about it or don't like? Thank you.

How do I backup my Zune on my new computer. No access to old computer. It blew up.
I mean, backup from Zune to computer or is that not doable?

I've got an older Zune 30. I've been downloading songs from different sites for awhile now and saving them together in the same folder on my computer. A lot are homebrew files, missing or incomplete album/artist data, so finding them all in my Marketplace is tricky.

Is there a simple way to set up a Playlist that just includes everything in a particular folder?

My touchpad (80GB) suddenly stopped responding yesterday, so I can't reboot or navigate. I've looked around online for fixes, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of help. I'm trying to run the battery down to see what happens when it restarts, but besides that, is there anything else I can do? Zune service says it would be $160 for repairs.

edited to add: In case anyone else has this problem, running down the battery apparently worked. The touchpad started functioning again when it recharged.

I have erased everything off my Zune because I went to play something and it stated that items were missing, that has happened before and I just deleted everything and put it all back on again. However this time, I erased everything and now it says I have used 120g worth or storage and nothing will fit on it, any clue on what I can do to make it realize that I don't have anything on it.

My husband and I both have the original Zune 30's (yes, the brown ones), and laptops running Windows Vista. We both updated our Zune software & firmware a week or so ago and now neither one of us can get our Zunes to sync. When we plug it into the laptop like usual, the devices recharge, but the software won't recognize it's there. The most recent podcasts on my device are dated Jan. 31st so it seems to have started late on the 31st or very early February 1st.

Is there a bug in the updates that screws with the 30s, like the 2008/09 NYE bricking? Or is it just us for some reason, two separate 30s refusing to sync to separate laptops, both failing at the same time?

PS Zune settings (on device):
Version 3.30 (39)
Bootloader 435

If you have an FYE store by you, they might be going out of business. I was at my local FYE (Florida Mall, Orlando) last week and they had a ton of 1st Gen Zune stuff on clearance- travel packs for $15, cases for $2. The Home Pack was only $30! Just a heads up.

So I was thinking of giving an 8 Gb Zune as a gift this Christmas; I found a few good deals, but most of them involve the word "refurbished". How is a refurbished Zune different from a "used" Zune? Should I make the leap and buy a refurbished Zune as opposed to just getting a new one (it certainly would be cheaper)? Any experience you've had with refurbished Zunes? Thanks!
